Would masonry nails be enough to hold a picture rail in place on the wall?
There'll be nothing hanging on it

- Yes, but I like using plugs and screws in case you want to remove them after.
- Dont do that either screw in with plasplugs of course or Tack it into place and use Pink Grip adhesive. Tacking is good while you double check your alignment.
- When handing anything on the wall always think about the weight that is going up there.Best go to Lowe's and check out the different types of hanging devices.
- Yes it will but there is a chance the you might damage the picture rail by hamming the the nail into the wall.I would suggest you use screws and plugs its far more neater.
- masonary nails are fine, but make sure they are at least 75mm long. that way yo know they are getting a proper fixing, and it saves all the mess
- The best way is to use spirit based NoNail it is made for jobs such as this & comes with full instructions
