best places to train for art conservation in the uk/abroad? and how do I gain work experience?

I'm only 17 but I'm thinking about art conservation/restoration as my career path of choice. I'm a bit lost as to which are the best universities to train in the uk or even abroad, how much the pay is to start off with and which is the best way to gain work experience. Any help from someone training or has a career as an art conservationist would be greatly appreciated !!
